Well, that's over and done with. I had an extremely stressful night tonight. I don't know why, but I've never been so nervous about a set before. I had a bit of a shaky start, but then things started to settle down, but unfortunately a lot of people seemed to choose my set as a good time to go home. I tried not to take this personally! A lot of people have work tomorrow and so dancing until 2am would not be considered prudent.
It has come to my attention that there are a few people there who maybe I should have paid a little more attention to, sorry about my rather flaky attitude this evening, but I was having to become more and more focussed as the time for my set approached. I become very zoned if I'm stressed, and some people can read this as standoffishness. It wasn't, I assure everyone.
I'm glad people seemed to enjoy it, all the sets were good tonight and a lot of people seemed to do a lot of dancing.
Nice to see some less goth people having a good time, even if they were a little tongue in cheek.
Got given a phone number at the end of the night though, so that can't be bad.
Apologies to Prince Rilian, whom I was especially flaky with.

As I’ve had a quiet evening to myself I’ve decided to get caught up on some reading. I’ve specifically chosen to indulge in one of my favourite solo pastimes – reading Shakespearean plays out loud. It is the only real way to enjoy them without actually going to see a production. My neighbours must think I’m a little mad however, since they’ve already heard me talking to my fathers ghost and chatting to my two best mates who both sound remarkably like me.
An aspect of Hamlet has come to light which I had not previously noticed. In Act II Scene II Hamlet, having just totally assured Polonius that he is in fact as mad as a bag of spanners, explains in the most heartbreaking terms to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern that he cannot feel joy, his heart is so low that he cannot even take pleasure in the joys of creation, really pouring his heart out, and Rosencrantz just looks at his feet for a bit, and then blurts out “I tell you what, you’d better cheer right up when the entertainment arrives, they’ve come all this way! It’ll be Proper Bo!” What a cunt! I’ve not seen Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead for a very long time – does anybody have a copy of the Tom Stoppard film?
I’ve never really given Hamlet the attention it deserves, always previously avoiding the more well known plays, because it sounds so clichéd to be reading R+J or the Tempest. Henry IV rules.
Anyway, all this talking has made me hungry, I’m going to go and whack together a meal, as I’ve done the whole forgetting to eat thing again – How can I forget to eat so much and still be so overweight? Gah!
